As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, AB Building & Electrical have made a donation to fund 160 meals at the Community Lifestyle Centre in Wythenshawe. With unemployment twice the national average at 12.8% (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-66248085), a significant number of families rely on free school meals to feed their children. The school holidays can put a significant strain on family resources when they need to find the money to provide extra meals for six weeks.
To help deliver this initiative, AB Building & Electrical have engaged with the cafe operated with local staff by Wythenshawe Community Housing Group alongside the Youth Action Team and Financial Inclusion Team.
Stewart Shaw (Director) said “We understand that school holidays can place an additional burden on families. We are delighted to be able to support the communities in which we operate, and are planning to provide further support”
